What is the Change Account? The Change Account has a dedicated Sort Code and Account Number and, a Prepaid Debit MasterCard®. It offers many payment features, such as Faster Payments and Direct Debits as well as innovative budgeting tools to make it easier for you to manage your money.

How does it work? The Change Account has two main features: Your Change Account includes a Card account which you can access with your Card when withdrawing cash and making Card purchases, and which you can manage online or through your mobile app. Your Change Account also has Change Account Wallets which are secure budgeting tools.

What does it cost? For every feature on Your Change Account there is always a cost to us which is why, unfortunately, there are costs associated with The Change Account. You only pay for the features you use; your finances will never have to subsidise other customers. For a full list click here

What is a Wallet? A Change Account Wallet is a secure budgeting tool which helps you manage your money and takes the stress out of bill payments. You are able to set up two Change Account Wallets initially. Try to think of them as two mini accounts alongside Your Card account which you can only access online or through your mobile app.

How is the Change Account similar to a Bank Account? The Change Account has many of the benefits of a bank account, such as: Direct Debits, Faster Payments and BACS Credits, A Prepaid Debit Chip and PIN Card which can be used in store, online and at ATMs worldwide*, Its own dedicated Sort Code and Account Number, You can access and manage Your Change Account online and via your mobile app, Secure Login and Registration.

Who can apply? There are no credit checks required to apply for The Change Account but you need to be 18 years old or over and a resident in the UK.

Rewarding You

Get 3-12% Cash Back into Your Change Account by using Your Change Account Prepaid Debit Mastercard® at a great range of 16 participating retailers.

Pay for your goods at the participating retailers in store or online

Any Cash Back you have made will be combined and will go directly into Your Card account in one lump sum at the end of the following month

A summary of your previous months Cash Back Rewards Payment will be available on your overview and on your monthly statements

To view the participating retailer brands in our Rewards Programme log into Your Change Account, go to Overview and select ‘Participating Retailers‘.

Start Account

If you have trouble budgeting for your important bills every month a Start Account with Lincolnshire Credit Union could help.


• Makes sure that your rent, council tax, utility and other priority bills are paid on time.
• Money cannot be withdrawn until bills have been paid.
• Allows you to manage your money better.
• Up to 6 regular payments each month.
• No costly charges for bounced direct debit and bank charges.
• Helps you to become a better saver.

When you set up a start account you can arrange for regular payments to be paid in. This could be by having some or all of your benefits or wages paid directly in to the account.

You can then decide which regular bills and payments you would like to be made on your behalf.

As long as your income comes into your account as agreed then we will ensure that all your requested payments will be made on time. Once all your payments have been allocated we will arrange for the remaining balance to be transferred to the Change Account prepaid card, your bank account or added to your credit union savings account. 

If you find it hard to budget you’re spending over a month we can arrange for your remaining balance to be split into weekly or fortnightly payments .

The Start Account has a monthly fee of £5 per month.

To be eligible for a Start Account you will need to be a member of Lincolnshire Credit Union.
